Where The Creek Runs Cold – Liddell Rayne – REVIEW

This had me gripped from the start. The mystery of what happened to Lila’s sister, Emily, was intriguing and made me want to read more. Samuel, the dark stranger who somehow knows about Lila’s unhappy past, made me want to find out what happens, and it did not disappoint.

As for the writing itself, it runs so smooth it makes the story natural and believable, despite it being supernatural. It made me emphasise with Lila’s sadness and connect with her enough that I wanted the best for her. The descriptions pulled me into her grey world. I was impressed with the descriptions of Lila’s history of growing up: they make her so real.

This story was crafted well and comes together into a satisfying conclusion, telling how Lila deals with her guilt from the death of her sister Emily. Well worth a read.
